Landowner Permission & Bowhunting Access Letter
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our urban bowhunting program at Back Roads Outdoors. We understand that granting access to your property is a significant decision, and we want to be completely transparent about who we are, how we operate, and why this program exists.
Our mission is centered on safety, responsibility, and community impact. Urban and suburban deer populations have grown well beyond what the land can naturally support. This overpopulation leads to increased vehicle collisions, property damage, landscape loss, and a higher risk of disease spreading within wildlife populations. Carefully managed bowhunting is one of the most effective and proven methods for controlling deer numbers in developed areas.
Community & Conservation First
A major part of our program is giving back. All harvested deer are processed and donated to Hunters for the Hungry, as well as local food banks and church food pantries, helping provide high-quality protein to families in need throughout our community. Your participation directly supports neighbors right here in our area, allowing us to explore the great outdoors while making a difference.
Safety & Professional Standards
Safety is our top priority. We operate with:
- Full liability insurance
- Signed waivers clearly stating that the landowner assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries or incidents
- Strict adherence to all local, city, and state regulations
All hunting is done using archery equipment only, which is widely recognized as the safest method for urban deer management due to its limited range and controlled impact.
Respect for Your Property
We treat every property as if it were our own:
- We use non-invasive equipment that causes no damage to trees or structures
- No stands or equipment are ever left behind
- Every hunt is conducted with minimal disturbance and maximum discretion
Hassle-Free for Landowners
We handle the entire process for you. This includes:
- Managing all paperwork
- Obtaining the required city permits
- Coordinating schedules and access in a way that works best for you
Our goal is to make participation simple, stress-free, and hands-off for landowners.
Landowner Compensation
Because we professionally document our hunts and produce outdoor media content, there is potential for revenue from the resulting videos. In recognition of the value of your land and your cooperation, we are willing to compensate landowners for granting permission to obtain a hunting permit on their property.
